For Students 2 Years Old - 7 Years Old

Dance with me classes; mommy and me classes

Dance With Me

A class with adult assistance & involvement. Students are exposed to different styles of music, movement, fun dance games & props, and quality time with a parent, grandparent, guardian, or caregiver. Students are introduced to how to participate in a classroom environment, including taking turns and putting props away. Caregiver assists the children by guiding their movements, helping them stay on task, encouraging involvement, and easing them into independent involvement.

Preschool Creative Movement Classes

Pre-K Creative Movement

Creative Movement will encourage age-appropriate movement that helps strengthen both fine and gross motor skills. In this program, we will introduce the art of dance and music in a very fun, loving, and professional environment. We will work on developing skills such as rhythm, coordination, self-confidence, discipline, and structure. And also work on social skills like taking turns, making friends, teamwork, and listening.

Ballet Tap Classes

Ballet/Tap Combo Class

One class, but two dance styles! This class focuses on basic movement and dance skills to develop coordination, balance, musicality, timing, and flexibility. Beginning ballet and tap technique and basic vocabulary are introduced. Combination classes are a great way for students to experience different styles with the main focus on having fun and enjoying dance.

Acro BittyBop classes

Acro/Bitty Bop Combo Class

One class, but two dance styles! This class offers 30 min of Acro & 30 min of Bitty Bop. Acro is short for Acrobatics or Acro Dance. This class will learn basic age appropriate tumbling skills while focusing on flexibility, strength, and balance. Bitty Bop is our modified version of hip hop for our younger students. Hip hop is an energetic, upbeat and trendy form of dance. This class will combine isolations, rhythm and popular dance moves to songs that are fun but clean and age appropriate.

For Students 8 Years Old - 18 Years Old

Ballet classes

Ballet

Ballet Technique classes are the foundation for training and focus on developing a solid ballet technique with emphasis on understanding correct body placement, proper use of turn out, coordination of the upper body (epaulement), and use of arms (port de bras). Class begins with work at the barre to build strength and coordination, followed by center exercises, culminating in a grand allegro combination or variation. Clear explanations of exercises and theory help students use the ballet vocabulary in a simple, practical way that leads to increased technical understanding, healthy physical development, and lifelong enjoyment. Students with strong ballet technique, sufficient core and ankle strength, and a teacher's recommendation go on to study 'en pointe'. Class placement is determined by the instructor.

Tap classes

Tap

These classes are designed to develop rhythm, style and sound. Students will learn a variety of tap styles from Broadway to Rhythm tap. Exercises focus on building flexibility of the knee and ankles, coordination, and speed of movement. This class also emphasizes developing proper tap technique, producing clear tap sounds, and having fun.

Jazz classes

Jazz

These classes will focus on learning proper jazz technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. Students will be exposed to various styles of jazz such as Broadway, Street and Contemporary to help develop a well-rounded dancer. Both levels of Jazz include a proper warm-up, stretches, across-the-floor progressions, and combinations. Class placement is determined by the instructor.

Hip hop classes

Hip Hop

Hip hop dance includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, popping, and locking, which were created in the 1970s and made popular by dance crews in the United States. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Our Hip Hop classes teach rhythm, coordination, musicality and choreography without suggestive music or movements.

Contemporary

Contemporary

Contemporary blends creative dance and artistry with athletic technique found in Jazz or Ballet. Classes are a combined curriculum of modern and lyrical, often utilizing improvisation, floor-work and partnering. Contemporary as a dance style in itself is defined, in part, as a fusion of ballet and jazz, demanding technical skill, musicality and an expression of emotion.

Pointe classes

Pointe

Pointe students in this level will work at the barre to build strength and will gradually move to center work on two feet. Building strength and establishing proper placement on pointe are the key goals in this class. Students will utilize previously learned ballet technique while working in pointe shoes. Each class includes barre exercises, center floor work and across the floor combinations. These exercises focus on strengthening the feet and ankles while maintaining proper placement on pointe.

Pre-pointe classes

Pre-Pointe

Pre-Pointe classes are offered to ballet dancers who are not yet on pointe to further develop and strengthen the muscles necessary to go en pointe. Pre-Pointe classes stress correct alignment and correct classical ballet technique. Pre-Pointe will include exercises in demi pointe to strengthen calf muscles, ankles, and arches of the feet. This class includes Thera-Band exercises, like pointing and flexing the feet in parallel and turnout. Students work on flexibility by drumming their toes (lifting the toes off the floor and lowering them one at a time), and they do abdominal work to strengthen their core.

Musical Theatre (Theater) Classes

Musical Theatre

These classes will focus on learning proper jazz technique such as isolations of the body, improving performance quality and developing complex rhythms and patterns. In addition to jazz technique, musical theatre style will be added with improvisation, character development, and audition prep.

Adult Classes

Adult Ballet

This class is designed for individuals aged 18 and above who have a passion for ballet and are looking to explore this beautiful art form. This intermediate-level class offers a supportive and encouraging environment where adults of all backgrounds and abilities can learn and grow as dancers while focusing on staying healthy and enjoying the experience.

Adult Tap

Calling all adults!! Tap dance sharpens reflexes and improves memory skills and coordination. These beginning classes will work toward establishing fundamental tap movements, vocabulary and will work on basic rhythms and steps that progress into fun and lively dance combinations.
